A traffic-dependent fallback. It can suit a late arrival or a hotel near the advertised stop, but protect a larger time buffer.
After baggage reclaim
North Terminal arrivals use the free shuttle to the South Terminal rail station.
Check whether Victoria or a Thameslink station reduces the final interchange.
Use the airport disruption notice as well as the rail operator on the day.
Contactless and Oyster are accepted on Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink for London journeys; use the same payment identity in and out.
Keep luggage manageable enough to lift, turn and move through a busy interchange without blocking doors or aisles.
Do not rely on an average daytime journey. Check the final usable train and the onward London connection after the scheduled landing time.
Do not attach a timed fan attraction to flight arrival day unless losing it would be acceptable.
